Our Counselors
Norm Decena, MFM, MCL
Norm Decena is Pastoral Counselor with Breath of Life Foundation, committed to the pursuit of providing avenues for holistic growth among individuals and groups he encounters. He adheres to the belief that no one is beyond the grace of God, therefore providing an unshakable foundation of God’s boundless love and mercy.
In Micah 6:8, the prophet asked, “What does God require of you?” This question serves as a fulcrum to where Norm pivots his life testimony and his ministries. As a pastoral counselor, he sees his assignment as a calling, and not simply a profession. He sees his role as a vessel that can facilitate safe spaces for learning, accepting, and nurturing. He embraces the truth that the Bible is the ultimate foundation of his faith and his practice.
Norm graduated with an MA in Christian Leadership at Asian Theological Seminary in Manila, Philippines. He holds a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Ministries from Talbot School of Theology in La Mirada, CA. He is also a Certified Life Coach and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Through the years, he has served as a resource person and guest speaker among different churches and organizations in California. Moreover, he continues to be a basketball coach among different groups and schools in the San Gabriel Valley and Pasadena areas.
He and his wife Marilyn serve at Fellowship Church of Monrovia where he is a Pastoral Leader, mentor, life group facilitator, bible teacher, and a vocalist for the worship team. He loves spending time with his three kids, though not so little anymore, traveling, eating a good meal, and creating new family memories together.
